Sponsor Sue Harrison

Sue has been selected for the England Team for the IAU 50k World Trophy Final in Galway on 29 August 2010. This will be her first venture into the world of ‘ultra-distance’ running (it’s 31 miles - 5 miles further than a marathon!) and she has decided to run in memory of our former Club President, Cavin Woodward - a World Record holder at several ultra-distances and who sadly passed away earlier this year

The money raised will be split between two charities:

There is a sponsor form and collection box in the clubroom at Edmonscote track, and collection boxes in Warwick Sports shop and the British Heart Foundation shops in Warwick & Leamington. Your donation, however small (or large!) will be greatly appreciated by the charities, thank you

Volunteers 2010-11

The club is administered and run by a team of volunteers. Home and away fixtures pose a particular problem in that we have to find teams of officials to help run the event. it would be enormously helpful if you were able to assist at either home or away fixtures - you do not need to be a qualified official, just willing and able to spend some time: clearing hurdles, recovering javelin or raking sand in the high jump pit. We have put a fixture list here on the club's site. Please email Jeremy Eastaugh if you are able to help

National 6 Stage Road Relay Championships

Leamington’s women’s team had a good race in the National 6 Stage Road Relay Championships at Sutton Park on Saturday 17 April over the usual 3 mile course

Monica Williamson ran the first leg in 19 minutes 12 seconds for 38th place. Susie Tawney made up one place with 19.57 on the second leg and Jennie Jeeves held that position in the third leg with 21.14. Catherine O’Carroll pulled the team up to 34th place with 21.37 on the 4th leg and Zara Blower (21.16) and Helen West (24.43) held onto that position over the last two legs to bring the team home in 2 hours 7:59

The title was won by Aldershot, Farnham & District for whom International athlete Stephanie Twell ran the final leg

If you no longer wish to train with and compete for the club please email Bob Mee so that your name can be taken from the list. Please also note that the club does not normally allow non competing athletes to train with it, you do need to compete and partake in club events
