Sophie James
Sophie has trained hard since joining the club only a couple of years ago, when not at the track she can be found road training around Kenilworth. The hard work paid off and Sophie was selected to represent Birmingham at the UK School Games at Sheffield 1-4 September. Sophie, with 872 points, beat Londoner Martina Barber's 700 to take Gold in the 1500m Ambulant Girls with a time of 6:29.88 - a very well done to Sophie for a very well deserved medal
The Hatton 5
We had perfect conditions Sunday the 25th September leading to the fastest Hatton 5 since its 2005 inception. Visit the forum for the LCAC Hatton 5 results or down load the Hatton 5 Full Results
Club Championships
The championships have proved popular once again - nowhere more than in the senior women category, where we had 11 ladies competing overall, plus a surprise, very welcome appearance from Sara McGreavy in the 100m hurdles!
The results are on the club forum at Club Championships Results
Our thanks as always to all the volunteers who made the champs happen, to Bob for posting the results and to the the refreshment ladies for their commitment
Congratulations to all who took part, our thoughts are with the Foz who couldn't quite keep up with the fresh talent in the men's 50-59, maybe next year Tony!
The club forum is now up and running with proper administration and we'd encourage everybody with an interest in the club to participate
Many thanks to David Ashbourne for the Quadkids photograph above. He has a gallery of pictures at Quadkids Champs 2011, we think that it's a good job that Dave had his flash to hand (he'd left his reflector at home!)

We have the results of the One Hour Track Race
Ted and Doris Run Results
We have the Ted and Doris duathlon results well done to Richard Harper, the first athlete to win for many years
Isobel Davis
Isobel Davis has broken the club under-13 girls 1500m record that has stood since 1986. Isobel ran 5.02.21 at Loughborough on July 13th... breaking Rachel Bowen's record of 5.03.1. A terrific run from Isobel, who has improved so much in the last 12 months, is currently the club's no.1 ranked female athlete in the 1500 metres, at the age of 12!
Cosima Berry
Cosima won the English Schools High Jump clearing 1.73 for Oxfordshire, this mark equals Cosima's PB and club record and adds the first English Schools gold by a Leamington athlete in recent memory. This height puts Cosima joint 2nd on the UK U17W rankings and 21st on the Senior UK Women's rankings - a very impressive feat! She has been selected to compete for England at the international match in Cardiff on July 16, and been invited to captain the girls' team at the UK School Games at Sheffield in September so well done Cosima

2011 West Midland Young Athletes XC League
The end of a terrific season for our junior athletes in the West Midland Young Athletes Cross Country League. Previously Leamington C & A C have got one individual medal each year in this tough league. But this year five of our athletes won individual medals and with the under 17 team collecting the bronze makes this our best ever year. Overall Leamington came 8th out of 20 which is a tribute to all those outside the medal places who kept on turning out to represent the club. We had two athletes run for the first time in the league in the under 11s, Alistair Robinson and Georgia Clarke and three run for the last time Jimmy Bull, Guy Allen and Mary Donaldson

The Two Castles Run - 10 June 2011
The Two Castles Run will once again host the Warwickshire County Athletics Association 10k Road Race Championship and is also the second in the series of races which make up the Warwickshire Road Race League
Visit the Two Castles Run website
The Championship race is open to all members of athletics clubs affiliated to UKA who live, or were born, in Warwickshire, Birmingham, Coventry or Solihull. The Road Race League is a season long competition of races promoted by affiliated Warwickshire clubs, and as well as the Two Castles includes the Regency 10k in April, the Northbrook 10k in May, Sphinx Summer 5m in June, Stratford 6m and Rowheath 5k in July, Cov Godiva 5m in August, and the Kenilworth ½ Marathon and Rugby 10m in October. Positions in the league are competed for by members of the clubs, but individual race entries are also very much encouraged from those who see themselves as social runners or just motivated to keep fit throughout the year
Masters of the Midlands
Midland Vets League Gold Cup Winners - Leamington
For the first time in its 25-year history Leamington won the A final and to do it had to beat Rugby & Northampton, who had won for the last five years. Our women's team were 2nd, and the men were 5th in a very tight match, but it was our consistency over the two matches that brought us ahead on the combined scores
Men's team: Tony Foster, Chris Georgiou, Phil Clayton, Lawrie Dunn, Mark McAleenan, Mark Wise, Steve Webb, John Leathem, Alex Montgomery, Andrew Johnson, Paul Caruana, Jim Sinnott, Pete Brown,
Noel Butler, Dominic Browne
Women's team: Lorraine Benton, Manjit Bains, Susie Tawney, Judith Hanlon, Monica Williamson, Carol Blower, June Johnson, Janet Mee, Delia Caruana, Helen West, Dayle Adams
Highlights: Our men's team won the 4 x 100 relay, but it was the 4 x 400s that provided the real excitement near the end when we knew how close it was - the announcement was that, with a couple more field events to come in as well, we were level on points with Rugby & Northampton. Both 4 x 400 teams produced amazing performances to finish one place above Rugby & Northampton in both events. The women's team of Susie Tawney, Monica Williamson, Janet Mee and Judith Hanlon also set a club W45 record. Lorraine Benton also broke her own W50 discus record. There were other great individual performances but in the end it was the team effort that mattered. A great day for everyone involved, and an historic achievement for our club
Volunteers 2011-12
The club is administered and run by a team of volunteers. Home and away fixtures pose a particular problem in that we have to find teams of officials to help run the event. it would be enormously helpful if you were able to assist at either home or away fixtures - you do not need to be a qualified official, just willing and able to spend some time: clearing hurdles, recovering javelin or raking sand in the high jump pit. We have put a fixture list here on the club's site. Please email Jeremy Eastaugh if you are able to help
Coaching - Javelin
Sarah Dunkley is joining the club as a throws coach. Please do let your coach and Sarah know should you be interested in participating
