GLOUCESTER LEAGUE XC - LCAC Medals Hopes

Round up from Bob Mee

Medal situations

Women's senior

Our team is now second ten points behind Bath, 30 pts ahead of Cheltenham in third
Points for clarification: Bath 112, Leamington 122, Cheltenham 142

Women's veterans

LCAC's team are second behind Bath but 29 pts from Tewkesbury, and 53 ahead of 3rd placed Bromsgrove & Redditch
Points: Bath 204, Leamington 246, Tewkesbury 275, Bromsgrove & Redditch 309

SUE HARRISON has won both of her races. To win the overall title she has to run at Leamington and finish in the top two. Assuming Sue runs reasonably to form the only person who can beat her is the current leader and leading junior Steph Lane who has 7 pts from 3 races

W40 is interesting. If JENNY JEEVES runs at Leamington she could get among the medals. At the moment 3 races have been completed by Jeannette Malin (77) and HELEN WEST (207). Jenny has 46 pts from 2. Others in contention if they run the last race are Katriona Hawkins (42) Jacqui Phillips (30) and Dawn White (53)

W45 if MONICA WILLIAMSON runs at Newbold and is anywhere near normal form she will win gold. Monica has 19pts from 2 with Philippe Spruitt 43 pts (2) and Veronica Ford 56 pts (2). Those who have competed 3 races are led by Joan Shaw (69) and Alison Vuagmiaux (80)

Junior Women

Steph Lane is assured of gold. The other medals should be between Jane Thomas (70 3 races) MEGAN ROTHMAN (49 2) and Rebecca Gould (50 2)

Under 17 women

Nobody has run all 3 races which means the 3 medals will be sorted out between five athletes - at the moment it's Imogen Simmonds and Brittany Teague on 5 pts each EMMA FULCHER 10 Zeinab Weyes and Katy Huber on 12

Under 15 girls

This is still wide open but our athletes have too much ground to make up. All need to run in 1 more event. At the moment we have LYDIA MEE (25) KATE BRANDIST (31) GEORGINA EASTAUGH (34) and FLEUR O'DWYER (37). If we have a team finishing at Newbold however they will win the gold medal

Under 13 girls

Again still wide open with ANNIE LEATHEM 2nd at the moment. Fenella Madley leads on 9 pts Annie has 12 and Talitha Walker-Warne has 20 with Rosie Parsons 21. However 3 athletes who have only run twice could still overtake Annie depending on the final day Alice Conquest 3 pts Sadie Melhuish and Louise Baker both 8 pts

Under 11 girls

None

Men

No seniors in contention. NOEL BUTLER is 5th in the M60s. BRIAN MILLER is also just off the medals in M45

Junior Men

JAMIE LANGLEY is 4th but 3 others are also in contention if they run the final race as follows Sebastian Foy (19 pts 3) Richard De Camps (42 3) Simon Lanckham (98 3) Jamie Langley (120 3). Plus Dan Harrison (50 2) James Hood (72 2) Will New (75 2)

Under 17 men

JACK MEE is assured of at least the silver medal. The one who can win gold is Ben Coldray who has won both of the races he has entered. ADRIAN SMITH might get a bronze if the results fall well but the team (with CHRIS WOOD) is assured of gold if they finish at Leamington. Points as follows: Jack Mee (6pts 3) George Livingstone-Thompson (9 pts 3).  Plus Ben Coldray (2 2) Tom Beer (6 2) Adrian Smith (10 2) Oliver Starkey (11 2) Ben Gregory (14 2) Chris Wood (16 2)

Under 15 boys

GUY ALLEN is 7th,  JIMMY BULL 11th GEORGE LOVEDAY 12th. Too much to do to get medals but the team is 2nd at the moment. All depends on what Westbury and Stroud do on the final day but it's between 4. We need everyone out if we can

Under 13 & Under 11 boys

None
